Although the majority of my time is taken up with repairs and restorations I do enjoy taking on a few commissions every year.

If you wish to commission an instrument I will happily discuss your needs as to sound and appearance or if you are keen for a copy of a particular violin, viola or cello. I require a 20% deposit once the commission is confirmed to cover the cost of materials.

My experience working with quality instruments of the past has given me a rare insight into classical working methods. Many of these I still use today as I continue the long tradition of violin making in Scotland.
